Now that we have actual pictures of earth, it seems obvious to me that the Gulf of Mexico is a crater. There seem to be several other possibilities as well. Most seem to be in the Caribbean ocean. They can’t all be the same age. Why would comets tend to strike there?
There is a clustering of craters on the moon as well.
